Custom Precision Hobbed 321 Stainless Steel Spur Gear With Keyed Bore Hub
Product Overview
The Precision Hobbed 321 Stainless Steel Spur Gear is a hub‑type spur gear produced through a four‑process chain: CNC turning for the hub and datum diameters, gear hobbing for the tooth form, CNC milling for keyway and lightening holes, and wire EDM where profile accuracy requires. Machined from 321 stainless steel (AISI 321 / 1.4541) — a titanium‑stabilized austenitic grade resistant to oxidation and intergranular corrosion — the gear is suited to medium‑speed drives in heat‑exposed and corrosive environments. The keyed bore hub delivers positive torque transfer to the shaft, while lightening holes reduce rotating mass without compromising the web. Tooth count, module and pressure angle are machined to your drawing, with tooth‑form inspection reported on request.

Manufacturing Capability
| Feature | What We Deliver |
|---|---|
| Four‑Process Chain In‑House | Turning, gear hobbing, milling and wire EDM completed under one roof, so the tooth form and the datum diameters come from one controlled setup sequence |
| Gear Hobbing | Spur teeth hobbed on dedicated gear equipment; tooth count, module and pressure angle set from your drawing |
| Keyway & Bore Accuracy | Keyed bores machined for positive torque transfer and verified against drawing tolerances |
| Wire EDM | Applied where profile accuracy or thin‑web geometry demands it, holding clean edges on lightening features |
| Production Scalability | From single‑piece prototypes to small‑batch and high‑volume production on the same line and the same tolerance standard |
Quality Control & Buyer Benefits
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Three‑Stage Inspection | First‑article, in‑process and final inspection performed on every order; dimensional reports issued with each shipment |
| Tooth Form Verification | Tooth form and keyway geometry checked against drawing tolerances; inspection results available on request |
| Runout Checks | Bore‑to‑pitch‑circle runout verified to keep the gear running concentric on the shaft |
| Material Traceability | Mill certificates for 321 stainless steel available on request |
| Protective Packaging | Individual wrapping and partition packaging keep tooth flanks and edges free of transit damage |
