FAQ
1.What materials do you machine?
We machine a wide range of metals and plastics including aluminum (6061, 5052), stainless steel (304, 316), carbon steel, brass, copper, tool steels, and engineering plastics (Delrin/Acetal, Nylon, PTFE, PEEK). If you need a specialty alloy, tell us the grade and we’ll confirm feasibility.
2.What tolerances and precision can you achieve?
Typical production tolerances are around ±0.05 mm (±0.002"). For high-precision parts we can achieve ±0.01 mm (±0.0004") depending on geometry, material, and quantity. Tight tolerances may require special fixtures, inspection, or secondary operations — please specify on the drawing.
3.What file formats and information do you need for a quote?
Preferred 3D formats: STEP, IGES, Parasolid, SolidWorks. 2D: DXF or PDF. Include quantities, material/grade, required tolerances, surface finish, and any special processes (heat treat, plating, assembly) to get an accurate quote.
4.What surface finishes and secondary operations do you offer?
Standard and specialty services include anodizing, black oxide, plating (zinc, nickel), passivation, powder coating, polishing, bead blasting, heat treatment, thread tapping/rolling, knurling, and assembly. We can bundle secondary ops into the production workflow per your specification.
5.What are your lead times and minimum order quantities (MOQ)?
Lead times depend on complexity and quantity. Typical ranges: prototypes/single samples — a few days to 2 weeks; production runs — 1–4 weeks. MOQ varies by part and process; we routinely handle single-piece prototypes and small runs up to high-volume orders — tell us your quantity and deadline for a specific timeline.
6.How do you ensure part quality and certifications?
We use calibrated measurement tools (CMM, calipers, micrometers, surface roughness testers) and follow inspection plans such as first article inspection (FAI) and 100% critical-dimension checks when required. We can provide material certificates (MTRs), inspection reports, and operate under quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001) — specify required certifications when requesting a quote.
